I would love to work with these guys
A friend of mine send me these videos. One of em is a live performance of the Shams Ensemble and the other one is a collaboration of Brooklyn rider with Kayan Kalhor.
Imagine how it would sound to merge that music with mine...Thats one of my musical goals, to make a song with them, have an Iranian Ensemble backing me up....hey, it's always good to have dreams...even though the only time you come to face em is while you sleep...but I intent to live my dreams, thats why Im on here!! lol.
Its so sad that there is not many Iranian instrument players left in the world...
I wanna see and hear more young talented Kamancheh, Santur, Daf, Tar, Setar, Ney (and so on) players.
Do you know some?
Anyways, this video is the Shams Ensemble (I couldnt embedd it, so click on the link). This aint no hip-give-it-a-15sec-skip-music, you gotta watch the whole 12 min to feeeeeel this shit! Trust me you'll be captivated.
This one is Kayhan Kalhor a kurdish Iranian Kamancheh player and composer (He's the guy with the red shirt and the Kamanche ;) ) Now imagine this masterpiece featured on my type of music...
I wanna collaborate Kayhan!

CNN Inside Iran 6th January ´10
Two opinions regarding the protests on Ashura.
Mr conservative "Mohammad Marandi" says the demonstrators were "very brutal towards the police" and acted irresponsibly...(he continues to say what his superiors told him
to)
Miss "Fatemeh Haghighatjoo" says that in the beginning the people of Iran requested their demands peaceully, but unfortunately the goverment has done the exact oppsite and has pulled the people into violence...
Miss Haghighatjoo answers every question carefully but check out how Mr Marandi doesnt respond to the reporters questions and just talks his own talk...he pulls the "FOX move"...the channel Fox...not the animal...if I'd have to compare his move to an animal I'd say...Camel...lol...
Miss Haghighatjoo's accent is funny and cute and I like what she has to say.

Wrote a little something a while ago...

"Payam said we aint gonna stop till we got what we want
Michel said dont be naive they gonn ride till you gone
Saman said whatever man i simply wont
stop supporting the movement from home
While Ehsan marches on
the streets of Tehran is filled with ghosts
Neda said Mama stop crying be strong
her father lies in bed but his eyes wont close
No, I wonder what he got told...
I suppose Mo said
they told him what they told Mohsen
said if you go on TV the rest of your familys gonna get toasted...
While Danial packs his holster...
said fuck man, I wanna roast em
but his mama holds on to his hand, grabs the gun and unloads it...
Will they ever go then?"

More and more deaths...hate to post this...
Tehranbureau put together a selection of the youtube clips from the 27th December...the Ashura Videos...
Ashura is a national holiday. Historically, Iranian rulers have always honored Ashura’s prohibition of violence, even during wartime. But these motherfuckers just dont give a fuck...exuse my lingo, but them motherfuckers just killed 5-10 protestors on the streets on a national holiday...on a religious holiday that them motherfuckers supposed to honor the most...
Anyway, here's the link to the Ashura Videos. Thanks Tehranbureau.

Nike ACG and - Skiing in Dizin with Eva Walkner
Eva Walkner was a downhill ski racer in the Austrian national team. She wanted to know more about the people in Iran, the culture and the ski area she heard so much about. So she did a trip to Iran sponsored by Nike ACG Sweetspots. She was amazed by the things she experienced.
She says: "This whole trip was one big adventure. Making this Sweetspot was the best experience of my life!"
I love the fact that Nike made this trip possible for her and Im sure that a whole lot more skiing geeks know about Irans skipistes now, even though I think the real spirit of the ski pistes in Iran has not been captured properly. But this documentation isnt about the many ski resorts in Iran, it's about overcoming self set boundaries and challenging prejudices to achieve a new point of view. And that's fair enough for a start aint it ;) Plus if you wanna know more about the ski resorts in Iran just check out the Cool Kisses Song Blog you got everything you need to know right here ;)
But anyway, here's the clip, the things been cut into 4 minutes:
Eva just send me the link to the whole 20min film. The film is created and executive produced by her. I thanked her on behalf of the Iranian people...like I'm the president! lol....
So here it is, tell me what you think of it:
Oh and by the way, as you can tell Eva is cool as hell (oxymoron I know, should I have said cool as heaven??!!! or cool as an eskimo??!! lol....noooo...) she's always travelling around the world and she blogs about it too. In German though, check out her blog, here.

Iranian Girl - Ayda
So today I wanna do a songblog entry and introduce you to the lovely and talented Songwriter and Singer "Ayda" who happens to be Iranian. I dont know her personally, but we talked over Myspace a little. She's cool and funny as hell, 19 years old, born in Gothenburg/Sweden but lives in the UK now. She is a diverse but always soulful singer/songwriter. Her songs dont all sound the same! and I love it. Her voice is beautiful and you can tell that she's been singing since she could say "baba".
She does her internetwebcam thing, and she also does blogging, from poetry to videos, day to day stuff, from funny to heartfelt. She simply shares her artistic world on her blog. Here's the blog-link.
And here are two of her videos she did herself...there's lots more on her http://www.youtube.com/user/Aydalicious

The Death March by HADI GHAEMI in New York

Iran's post-election turmoil and the ensuing human rights crisis entered a new phase this week, after authorities announced death sentences for four defendants following the mass trials held for more than a hundred people accused of fomenting unrest and challenging the election results. It has raised the specter of further political executions in Iran. Most ominously, the death sentences were announced on October 10th, the International Day Against the Death Penalty. On the same day, Iran put to death Behnoud Shojaii, a juvenile offender, continuing Iran's distinction as the only country to execute juvenile offenders since 2008.(Read more...)
