Bio
There is a new star rising from the Middle East and he goes by the name of P.CANTELL. This young artist and songwriter is a melting pot of different cultures, having grown up in Iran,
Germany and the United States, creating a mixture that is second to none.
The world first took notice of him last summer, when he released his heart soothing “A Million Shadows”, a song dedicated to the struggle of the people in his home country, fighting for their
freedom ( watch the video here).
P.CANTELL is not a political rapper though – not at all. His biggest talent is the gift to tell a story and make the listener feel it as if he experienced it himself. His upcoming album, titled
“A Journey To Iran”, takes you on a virtual trip to his homeland, each song depicting a true, specific experience he had on his journey. If you thought you knew Iran, get ready for the clichés to
be defied.
P.CANTELL is released “Iranian Girl”, an anthem for strong, independent women with style and grace who have chosen their own path in life. He released the official video to the song on March 8th, which is the “International Women’s Day” all over the world.
In Iran, a woman’s word only counts half as much as a man’s word in the eyes of the law – one of the many things wrong with the country’s current regime.
To show his appreciation for not only the woman of his country, but all talented, ambitious women who have taken their life into their own hands, P.CANTELL recorded “Iranian Girl”, a
collaboration with singer Sahand, which was produced by Teyo Prise.
The video premiered on the biggest Iranian online community, bia2.com, and famous personalities from all over the world, such as Nazanin Boniadi (Hollywood actress, “Iron Man”) and Maz Jobrani
(actor and comedian) have lent their support to the project.
Iran needs somebody to show the world its true face, its loving side – and he is the one to do it.
